What is Colorado 811?

Colorado 811, or the "Utility Notification Center of Colorado" (UNCC), is the one-call center for Colorado.

Does UtiliSync provide "Positive Response" to Colorodo 811?

Yes! As soon as the form for the ticket is submitted as final UtiliSync sends the "Positive Response" to Colorado 811, including the "Response Code" (3 digit code indicating the disposition of the locate request), "Comments" and URL, or link, to the PDF report that was generated for that ticket. The PDF report includes photos and sketches created when the form was completed.

Will Colorado 811 send me an email in addition to the email they send to UtiliSync TMS?

Yes, Colorado 811 can send an email to your organization as well as UtiliSync, but you will need to pay the full price ($1.42/ticket) for both accounts. This is called setting up a "duplicate receiver".

Will WebTMS still work after our organization signs up for UtiliSync TMS?

No. Colorado 811 sends out one email per locate request. WebTMS is populated using that email. Once you switch over to UtiliSync TMS, UtiliSync will receive the email instead of WebTMS.

If there is an outage at Colorado 811, will our organization be notified?

If there is an outage at Colorado 811, an administrative message is sent to the "company" email on file. Contact Member Services at Colorado 811 to verify the "company" email address.

Our organization receives after hour phone calls from Colorado 811 for certain tickets. Will that change once we sign up with UtiliSync TMS?

Colorado 811 makes courtesy calls during business hours for damages and after-hours for emergency locate requests and damages for Tier One Members (free of additional cost to the member organization). Signing up for UtiliSync TMS does not change that.

After I mark a ticket with paint on the ground, do I need to provide additional documentation?

According to SB 18-167, in addition to markings on the ground, the member organization needs to provide, "Documentation of the location of the underground facilities in the form of a digital sketch, a hand-drawn sketch, or a photograph that includes a readily identifiable landmark, where practicable." (See (4) (a) (I) (B), Page 7). This can easily be accomplished using UtiliSync forms to add a photo and/or sketch to the PDF report.
