Map Tools

This article explains the tools that are located on the left side of the map.

Zoom In/Out

Zoom in and out on the map. You can also use the scroll wheel on your mouse on a computer or using the pinch-to-zoom method on mobile devices.

Zoom to Home

Clicking on this icon will return you to your default map extent that gets set automatically.

GPS Locate Tool

Clicking on this icon will zoom you in on your location on the map. Double clicking this icon will turn off the GPS Locate Tool.

Note: You may need to enable location services for your device.

GPS Track Tool

Clicking on this icon will zoom you in on your location on the map and track your movement so you can see where you are in real time.

Measurement Tool

Clicking on this icon will pull up the Measurement Tool.  On both the Line Tool and the Area Tool (described below) you will have the option of selecting from a wide range of Unit types.

  • Line Tool:
    • By default, the line tool comes up and is immediately ready to use.  But to start a new measurement:
      • Select the New Measurement button.
      • Click on the map to create points as needed. The total distance will appear in the widget.
  • Area Tool:
    • By default, the area tool comes up and is immediately ready to use.  But to start a new measurement:
      • Select the New Measurement button.
      • Click on the map to create points forming an area as needed. Information regarding the area and the perimeter will appear in the widget.
